Maybelline Color Show Go Graffiti Nail Polish Review

Maybelline is a budget cosmetic brand and is loved by all us. I love Maybelline products. It is because I don’t have to spend tons to buy makeup. It fits my budget. And the products do justice to my skin and make me look gorgeous.

Recently, Maybelline launched its new range of Color Show nail polishes. The entire range has 9 Color Show Go Graffiti Nail Paints – 6 top coats and 3 jelly like nail polish. Today I am going to review “Flower Power”, which is a top coat with clear base, medium peach orange hexes and micro white dots and hexes. I chose my base nail paint also from Maybelline in peach colour. I wanted to give floral feel to my nails.

In the bright sunshine I like colours which are pleasing and soft. Flower power is a gel based nail polish which can be worn individually also. It has big white coloured flowers which makes this nail polish really cute. But it is a task to take out the flowers and apply on your nails. I used tweezers to place my flowers the way I wanted. It is really worth spending every amount on this nail paint. The texture is thick and it does not come out easily. It is a steal deal in the given price. The only one thing which I didn’t like was the flowers are too big to place on your nails. So if you have a habit like me to play with your hair. Then it will irritate you.

Rest I think it is a must to have these graffiti nail paints.

Monsoon Dressing

I love rains! It’s a big relief from the rising mercury levels in Delhi. But dressing in the monsoons is little tricky. One should always avoid wearing shades of white and transparent clothes.

So the last weekend I had to go out with my friends. No special occasion, it is a weekend and you just cannot stay at home. I was really confused as what to wear. It is a million dollar question: what to wear…. If you can answer that in one go, hats off to you. I always stand in front of my closet and stare for long.. thinking I don’t have anything.. Finally I pulled out my silk shirt and thought to ditch my denims and wear my leather pants.

I created a chick and casual look. I opted for natural makeup and pink lips. Have a look and tell me if you like it.

What To Wear For A Party

Hey!

Today I am going to talk about how to get ready for a party in blinks.

Last week my childhood friend was in town. I was so excited and we decided that we have to go out and party. But we were not sure where to go. So I thought lets get ready and do club hopping. Whichever club is nice we will stay there.

I had very little time to get ready. As I wanted to style my friend first. I hope you read my last blog where I did her before and after makeup.

I did minimal makeup and just highlighted my lips with glossy colour. I am wearing Colorbar coral lipstick and monochrome dress. And I paired it with my black heels. (These are the same heels which I changed from dull cream to black colour. Read here.)

So this is what I wore.

I usually don’t do makeup for others. I like to experiment and work on myself. But exceptions come when your best friend is home. And you want to doll her up. So I gave her very simple look with bright lips. She wanted more no-makeup sorts look.

Homemade Body Scrub

Homemade body scrubs are really easy to make. Most scrubs which we buy contain preservatives and harmful chemicals which are not good for the skin. The scrub which I am going to tell you today is really easy to make and you can save tons of money too. I strongly believe in natural products and encourage people around me to use the same. The beauty of this scrub is that you can customize it however you want. It all depends on the ingredients you have or want to use.

Ingredients: Gram flour (Besan), turmeric (haldi), curd or milk and lemon

Time required – 2 minutes

Difficulty level – Super easy

Mix 4 teaspoon of gram flour (besan), 1 teaspoon of lemon, 1 teaspoon of yogurt and a pinch of turmeric to form a smooth paste. Apply it all over your body and gently scrub the skin. This scrub is all in one scrub. It has lot of benefits like it removes tan, acne, dry flaky skin, instant fairness, unwanted hair, etc.

Why Besan – Besan or gram flour has been traditionally used extensively for its beauty and health benefits. The best thing about this natural product is that it is suitable for all the skin types. It makes the skin look fresh and radiant.

Why Turmeric – Turmeric or haldi, is one of the most widely used spice in India. From food to cosmetics, it is a main ingredient for almost everything. It is an excellent exfoliating agent and can help you defeat the signs of ageing. Not only does turmeric take care of the scars and inflammation but also reduces oil secretion by sebaceous glands.

Why curd or lemon – Curd contains zinc which helps in reducing blemishes as well as acne problem. Lactic chemical in curd helps in soothing and hydrating. Thus making the skin soft and nourished.

Why lemon – aaahhh lemon has so many benefits. It is loaded with vitamins and has many benefits when applied on the skin or consumed directly. The citric acid helps in removing the flaky dead skin and resulting in smooth flawless complexion. This is one scrub which is loaded with tons of benefits. I personally use it to remove tan.

You Can Never Go Wrong With White And Gold

We all have fetish for Gold. And when you pair gold with any dress you got to look like a goddess.  It was my birthday last week and I had no plans to go out and party. But then if you have crazy bunch of friends you cannot sit home and avoid all the jazz.

I didn’t get time to go for birthday shopping so I picked my old dress and matched it with gold accessories. You can never go wrong with white and gold combination.

I was not having much time to do my makeup. When in doubt I just go for contouring and nude lipstick. I paired my dress with ear cuff.

Style Tip: Fetish for gold is good but just don’t overdo it.

How To Clean Your Makeup Brushes Like A Pro

How often do you wash your brushes? We often forget about washing and cleaning them. It is one of the most important things you girls should rigorously follow. Ideally, most makeup experts suggest cleaning them weekly. I count makeup as a big investment and buying makeup brushes is equally expensive. So all you girls, clean your brushes at least every 2 weeks to get that flawless makeup. You can get lot of skin allergies or pimples if you don’t clean your brushes. Think of how much of bacteria you can be dumping on your face daily.

Things you need:

• Baby Shampoo
• Dettol antiseptic or any antiseptic
• Hair conditioner
• Makeup remover
• Bar of Soap

How to clean your brushes:

• Begin by pouring lukewarm water in a mug or any big vessel. The water should not be very hot or cold. Dip your brushes completely in the water expect foundation, lipstick and eyeliner brush. Leave them for 5 minutes.

• Make sure the brushes are wet. Squeeze a small amount of shampoo in a mug and gently swirl your brush tip in the water. Take the each brush individually and swirl the brush in the palm of your hand. Do it for 1-2 minutes until the entire residue from the brush is clean.

• Take the foundation brush and clean it with a bar of soap. You need to clean the foundation brush with soap or shampoo because baby shampoo will not remove the residue. It is mild for foundation brush.

• For lipstick and eyeliner brushes use makeup remover or baby oil. This step should be done for any brush which is stiff with makeup residue. Take a small bowl and dispense 3-4 drops of makeup remover/baby oil. Be very careful while pouring the oil, as you don’t want your brush completely soaked with oil. You just have to break down the residue on the brush. After this step repeat the first step above.

• Now that your brushes are clean, make sure to wash the brushes well. It is one of the most most important steps. Wash them by rinsing the brushes under cold water. Do not pull the bristles and make sure you rinse from base to tip.

• Tip to get soft bristles again. Take small amount of hair conditioner in your hand and apply it on the bristles. Leave them for good 5 minutes. Again wash them properly. If it is slimy continue to wash your brushes until it is clean.

• Now add 2-3 drops (depending on how many brushes you are washing) of dettol antiseptic in a bowl. You can use any antiseptic you have. Soak them for few minutes. This is an integral step in cleaning your brushes. Remember, you are cleaning your makeup brushes with your hands and anything on your hands is being passed to your brushes. All the germs and bacteria. This will disinfect the handles of the brushes as well.

• Once the brushes are clean, begin by removing the excess water by squeezing the brush. Keep them on clean hand towel and fold it. The towel will absorb all the excess water from the brushes.

Tadaaaa your brushes are clean and ready to use. Make sure you air dry them for 4-5 hours.

If you are in Monaco for Formula 1 Grand Prix then the below tips can help you save some euros. Thou when you are in Monaco, you don’t think of saving money. It’s all about grandeur, luxury and getting the best in the world.

Here I have listed few tips by which you can save money and splurge more in the Casino.. 😉

1. Monaco is the second smallest country in world. So the best way to experience the tiny principality is by walking. Everything is nearby, so one can walk and save on taxi charges.
2. If for any reason one does not prefer to walk then you can get your daily bus pass and travel around Monaco. The full day bus pass will cost you 5 Euro.
3. Monaco is famous for 300 days of sunshine. To save on hotel tariff go in the off-season i.e winter season in India. Unlike other European countries it does not snow in Monaco.
4. The Fontvieille Shopping Center is a shopping center where you can find Carrefour supermarket and McDonald’s.
5. Wander around the streets of the Old Town. All the attractions are free except the inside visit of the Palace.
6. Walk around the Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit.
7. Check out the luxury cars in front of the Casino and the Hotel de Paris on Casino square, explore the lush casino gardens and wander through the marble alleyways of the Metropole shopping center.
8. Lie on the beach at Larvotto and have a swim in the clear blue waters. It is just 10 minutes walk from the Casino and just behind the Grimaldi Forum.
9. Have a pleasant stroll through the authentic Japanese garden, located between the Casino and the Grimaldi Forum.
10. On the opposite side of town, wander along the second port of Monaco that of Fontvieille, built on reclaimed land in the 1960’s, which has fair share of yachts as well as a lovely view of the Cathedral and the Oceanographic Museum.

How To Heal Sunburn With Coconut Oil

Having lived all my life in the hills, I know how my skin reacts to the sun. I have very sensitive skin so I need to take extra care. If you have sensitive skin like me, do not I repeat do notttttt move out without a good sunblock. Overexposure to ultraviolet rays gives sunburn which can further lead to lot of skin problems.

One very important thing to remember is that you need to use sunscreen after every few hours. We all think we used it once in the morning and now we don’t need it. But ladies you got to re apply sunscreen after few hours. Last Saturday was one such day for me. I used sunblock in the morning and went for my work. After few hours I moved out and got really bad sunburn. No matter how sun-experienced you are, burns can still happen. By evening my face was red and it was itching badly. And I was like, ohhh noooo not again. Because I always get sunburn, like always. Even if I take X amount of precaution.

This time I discovered a miracle product which did wonders for me. For first two days I was using aloe vera gel and ice. But my skin was becoming very flaky and I could scars all over my face. It was like a nightmare. I felt like locking myself up in one room and not moving out. It was that bad.

I used Coconut Oil on my skin, which worked like a miracle product for me. I knew coconut oil is good for skin, but never realised it can heal sunburn. I could see the difference overnight. My skin was feeling better and I could see less scars. It just felt awesome. Waking up to a good skin after dreadful burns just makes you feel so better. But remember there is no cure for burns; it takes its own sweet little time to heal.

I used Boots Coconut Body Oil. I will call it a miracle product. You can use any coconut oil which is available. This oil quickly soothed the burning. There are several benefits of coconut oil. One can use coconut oil for hair care, maintaining cholesterol level, weight loss, heart diseases, diabetes, etc. Coconut oil is very light, it quickly absorbs in the skin.

What to do when you have sunburn:

• Use lots and lots of ice when you get sunburn. Don’t use the ice directly on the affected area. The idea is to gently cool the skin. For inflamed skin use wet towel or take ice and cover it with soft linen cloth and apply on your skin.
• Use aloe vera, it is a herbal antibiotic. A personal tip I would like to give all my friends, keep your aloe vera gel in the fridge. Even if you don’t have sunburn keep the gel in the fridge. When you use cool get on your face it just feels so good and your skin will also love it. J
• Take few drops of coconut oil and gently dab on your sunburned skin.
• Do this process every night before sleeping. You do not have to remove the oil, it will get absorbed in your skin.
• You a towel or any cloth to cover your pillow. The oil can stain your pillow which you will not like.

A word of precaution for all you lovely people. Do not use coconut oil immediately after the sun burn. When you get sunburn always wash your face or body with cold water. Use coconut oil only after a day else it will trap the heat inside your skin.

There are lot of home remedies for sunburn. But this is what I tried and got healed with. Now when I move out in the sun I carry umbrella, hat or something to cover my face from the direct heat.
